It is strange how the communion of the Saints connects us to our past, to the Church and to ourselves.

Well, of course it's about my life and stuff I think about. Just like a quadzillionbazillion other bloggers. I'm obsessed with God. I love beauty, enjoy absurdity, dance with despair, seek silence, and think everyone is goofy. Here's my world and what I think of it....

The lovely Grace pointed out the word play of the Troparion with the multiple meanings of China, which I thought was neat.
Holy Saints, pray to God for us

I enjoyed reading the 'Roots' post. I hadn't made my way to that one before. I can see how this event and its commemoration are particularly meaningful.
By the way, Steven, I wonder if I can be so audacious as to pitch an assignment to you. I just went over to Wikipedia to get some historical background on the Boxer Rebellion, and note that though they have links under "See also" that go to a fairly comprehensive page of Protestant martyrs, they've got nothing to tell of the Orthodox martyrs. (Typical, right?) I was just wondering if you could add something to link to the Orthodox Wiki page or even edit the Wikipedia page(?). I would attempt it, but I think you'd do a better job.
But like I said, I've got a lot of nerve even asking you -- you must be the busiest man in show business.
