Real Life Kicks In

Ever since I got a "real job", and finishing latent construction commitments it seems I have little time for blogging or reading and commenting on other blogs.

I have a lot of thoughts and ideas for blog posts and podcasts but not much time to flesh them out.

Hm. Maybe after three years of virtual self-unemployment I've encountered real life once again.

On the other hand, I've been having this inner urge to sit down and shut up and take a break from being "out there" so much.

But that's another blog post/podcast in the works....

Thanks for checking in on the blog.  I'm liking my new job.

More coming.... some day soon.

a new job takes a lot of time and energy to adjust to and build ... so normal I think... same here... I don't have as much time for blogging etc since I have a job too. Best wishes to you and glad to hear from you via the blog world. :)

Glad things are going well!

I can relate. When I got to the point of taking my job as a teacher seriously enough to realize that I was blogging/online too much, I also realized that reversing those priorities meant the blog started to wane.

Ditto seminary, I guess.

Good on' ya.

Forgive me if you've already said, but what exactly are you doing in the office? Or rather, what kind of company are you now working for?

Fr. Mark, Basically I'm a "guidance counselor" for a distance learning high school. A lot of my kids are "at risk" students. The hard part for me right now is finishing construction commitments, learning the new job and figuring out how to live on what amounts to about a 50% cut in pay (if construction work was good... which it hasn't been in 2 years.)

You're so fortunate, or blessed, to have a job. We who follow your blog will wait patiently and will fully understand: you've got your priorities right.

Just caught up on how things were going with the return to a dayjob -- boy, can I relate! Greg is the one who took the "real" job, but I feel caught up in the life and location changes, and my blog activity has dropped way off.

When I hear the schedule you're working, I feel ashamed. I have a lot more hours available in the day, and I just can't get back in the groove.

I'm glad to hear that the new job is going okay.
