Christ is Risen !
Great photos - Nice to see one of you in there with the Cross you made.
How long did it take to make ?
S-p, that Cross you made is fantastic! And you have a lovely mission. Do you have your own building already, or are you renting from someone else?
Indeed, He is Risen!
The cross is beautiful!
Thanks for posting these. The cross is indeed beautiful. I attended my first Divine Liturgy of St. Basil on Saturday. I look forward to hearing about your Holy Week experience on OLIC.
Hi All,
The Cross took about 5 hours to make. It is made out of "blood wood" and exotic hardwood. The sawdust is blood red...my whole carport was covered with it! The Mission is actually meeting in a 3 bedroom house we rent in a neighborhood (you can see a picture of it on our Church website). The sanctuary area is actually the family room only about 28 by 15 feet. We pack a LOT of stuff and people into that small area! We've really worked on making it a miniature "cathedral" and don't skimp on the decorations and liturgical furnishings as you can tell. We have a great little community and had 5 baptisms and 2 chrismations on Holy Saturday! Glory to God!
