Intimate Marital Relations in the New Millenium

As a former marriage counselor I am acutely aware of the need for intimacy and communication in marriage. At the risk of scandalizing my morally sensitive blog readers, I decided to risk posting a picture of my wife and I caught in an intimate moment in my basement office/radio show studio where we have our two personal computers linked via "hard wire" (let the reader beware of creating an off color double entendre) ... emailing each other.

Yup. That about sums it up for us too. Only he's in the living room watching sports and fiddling on the laptop. I'm in the den doing homework.

BTW, nice bookshelves. They look just like ours.

yeah, your bookshelves are excellent.

Congrats.

Well, I guess I've seen the Bargain Basement... I mean, the Catacombs. haha

Yup, I remember my first Bible professor telling us young seminarians "A preacher's library is his biggest ego trip." I wonder what Freud would say about bookshelf envy...LOL! Unfortunately these are only part of the library. I ran out of wall there. :)

I....I....can't s-s-s-stand it. I tried to hold it back, but being in perimenopause, I just have to let it out, or I can't be held responsible for my actions! It's "my wife and ME" (not "I"). You wouldn't say "It's a picture of I", would you?

Yours truly until death do us part,

With two teenagers and a small house, sometimes instant messaging is the only way we can have a private conversation at home ...

I resolved long ago to give away books after I've read them, if I could; and avoid buying books that I didn't think I'd have someone to give them to. Otherwise I'd end up with a mess worse than that.

I went to an old friend/professor's house a couple of years ago, it was obvious he had wall-papered his house with books. There was no way he had even cracked open, much less read, a significant percentage of them.

Though I suppose it is more gentlemanly than the same picture if the shelves were filled with the empty bottles of the "beers of the world".

We live in a mobile home, so we have to have our intimate moments in the living room when the kids are asleep.

After all, my two year old won't put up with either of us on a computer and not paying attention to her.

I'm disappointed. I imagined you with Victoria and Albert style desks.

@Alex, this post is an "oldie" from 2006 pre-Fu-manchu.

The books... yeah, this is only one of my walls. I have stuff from 1970 on. 99% of them are dust collectors now. I can't throw a book away. I'm actually thinking about selling off the library but I can't get motivated to catalogue and post them on Amazon/Ebay.
