Africa

A Slovenian Acappella Choir replicates an African thunderstorm and reinvents Toto's hit song. At least watch the first two minutes. Very cool!
(If you like the "vocal instrumentals" and want to see how the Orthodox Church (and the churches of Christ) could do "acappella praise bands" watch THIS amazing group.)

Steve -- I see you've added The Wrestler to your movie list. I'd love to hear a podcast on it.

You must also see "Shotgun Stories" if you haven't yet. It's the same kind of realism, beautifully done.

And...while I'm at it...how about "Henry Poole Is Here." Another sleeper worth checking out.

Excellent! That "drummer" gives me an idea. If meatless sausage works for Lent, what about drumless praise bands? We can be fully American (Orthodox) without any of those nasty instruments in our worship ;-)

That WAS pretty cool.

Trevor Peter, What a great idea, acapella praise band! It can be done, check THIS out: This is all vocals and absolutely amazing (I heard these guys on NPR, yeah I listen to it on the way to church on Sunday morning)

Jim, I'm working on a podcast on "The Wrestler", I'm STILL reeling from its impact and sorting it out. I may need to see it again before I finalize it though. I think it is probably the most profound theological/existential movie I've ever seen.

Wow, they are great! I especially enjoyed the fake drum sounds, which didn't sound fake at all.

Whew! That was soooo cool! What work it took for them to accomplish that song!

Really cool! my 5 year old said "again, again" After we watched it again, I was then subjected to 10 minutes of kitten videos (thanks for that;) ). Also, apparantly, you or I can "become a CHURCH" w/ an online pastoral degree.

Trev, I can beatbox. It is an essential American art form.

Don't tell the aesthetes!
