Speaking of Jesus...

These videos were made by a church to show people how non-Christians sometimes view Jesus because of the way Christianity is presented. The movie used for the over-dubbed voices is the perfect vehicle. My favorite line: "What in the name of me is going on here?"

I'm speechless... I'm aghast... I'm trying to find the rest of the series!

Somehow.. the voice reminds me of Wally Cox or Marlon Brando... in their less convincing years. And you're right that this film is probably the best suited to the Mystery Science Theater type of treatment.

Laughed till I cried. This is really inspired.

I heard a Christian culture-critic say recently that the problem with movies depicting the life of Christ is that they make Him look ... well, quite a bit like this guy, actually.

Yeah, I ALMOST feel guilty laughing welllll... at Jesus. But its not Jesus. Nor are the movies about him really Jesus. There's a fine line between sacrilege and goring a sacred cow. I suppose in someone's mind if these movies were REALLY what they thought Jesus was like, then this would be regarded like someone defacing an icon. But....I laugh because it does indeed depict everything wrong about how Christ and Christianity is perceived and the perceptions are because of Christians, however well meaning and devout.
