Unrelated, except that it has to do with Russian Orthodoxy.

Some Russians made a bunch of Sims 1 mods that look like 19th century Russia. I especially like the Patriarch Sim.

I've always pictured my phronema with a red hair pick handle sticking up out of the back and slightly to the left side. And, of course, it would never be rounded on the corners but always appropriately nappy.

YES, I had to look this up at Orthowiki:

Phronema is a Greek term that is used in Orthodox theology to refer to mindset or outlook; it is the Orthodox mind. The attaining of phronema is a matter of practicing the correct faith (orthodoxia) in the correct manner (orthopraxia). Attaining phronema is regarded as the first step toward theosis, the state of glorification.
Meaning

These terms are part of what is called the "therapeutic method" of Orthodoxy, or the "therapeutic tradition." Orthodox theology teaches that a faith is true if it heals spiritual sickness, and brings the faithful to "behold the uncreated Light." Phronema refers to "the completely self-sacrificial trust and faith in religious and ethical truths... from the voice of God.... an unshakeable certainty about the truth of Faith... undiminished and vibrant throughout life, a continually verified daily experience," [1] "a growing feeling for and understanding of God's and the practice of Orthodox piety—Orthodox Worship and behavior." [2] The phronema is vested in tradition "against all heresies and schisms of all times". [3] The "mind of the Fathers" is also termed phronema [4] as is the "mind of the Church."[5]

----Curmudge probably COULD beat up my phronema, but mine is learning and growing. :)

I need you to put this one on a coffee mug so I can get it for about 20 of my Orthodox friends.

Well, OK, I'm broke, but I would buy one or two.

you are invited to follow my blog

Steve, I won't delete your "comment" even though it is bad blogiquette to phish for followers and potential converts on someone else's blog of a different faith. I checked out your blog and from your posts I assume you are of the Campbellite/Restoration tradition. I won't be following you blog because I am a graduate from one of the colleges, a minister and teacher in that tradition for almost 25 years. Your blog doesn't say anything I haven't already heard, studied, taught and believed at one time. I invite you to listen to the 125 hours of Our Life in Christ radio program (click on the link in my sidebar) and "Steve the Builder". Once you have done that (a minor investment of your time learning what I believe compared to the time I spent in your tradition) then I will be glad to talk to you as a dialogue and not as one of your "projects".

s-p,

I could really make Mr. Finnell sorry and become an inquirer. God knows how long Orthodoxy has been trying to rid itself of me. Alas, I'm like the herpes of the church world.
