tht's what our neighborhood sounds like when the Tornado sirens are tested every monday @ noon.

Did any of those dogs ever live with Dr. Pavlov? ;-)

I've entertained the notion from time to time that animals, who haven't themselves lost whatever connection they may have with God, as did Adam and Eve after the fall, at times glorify God. Our youngest has two pet canaries, and when one or the other starts singing -- there really isn't any other way to describe it -- it's truly amazing, and incredibly peaceful, in a mystical way akin to being in a church lit only by the glow of candles and lampadas. So, maybe the dogs are singing the praises of God as the bells summon the humans to come and worship?

Ranger, I remember that in Lubbock. :) Fr. John, I think you are on to something (I thought of Pavlov too, actually). If we read the Psalms correctly, I think creation has pure praise. If reincarnation is true, I want to come back as a monastery dog, for sure. :)
