Well, of course it's about my life and stuff I think about. Just like a quadzillionbazillion other bloggers. I'm obsessed with God. I love beauty, enjoy absurdity, dance with despair, seek silence, and think everyone is goofy. Here's my world and what I think of it....

I'm tired of journey stories. It's like reading a Robert Ludlum novel - the names change but the format stays the same, cranked out over and over. Not that I'm a super blogger or anything, but I thought it was sufficient to explain why I moved over, and then move forward to just share what's going on during the year. Of course I didn't start my blog to discuss my move but to post sermons and papers I was writing for school.
"to post sermons and papers I was writing for school" visualize a yawn
hah yeah it's pretty boring, I admit.
I've developed an allergy to "journey to Orthodoxy" stories and the cliches therein. It's a lot like my allergy to hearing people talk about fasting.
NOOOO! VENN DIAGRAMS! Why won't math leave me alone, even on teh interwebz? *cries*
Seriously though, good point. I gotta admit, I love me some good ol' cliche "Journey" stories.
Not like this Journey (though I like it too):

Regarding "journey stories" I would suggest they not be dismissed nor derided. Sure after a while there is a diminishing return for those "mature in the faith". But for those who are waking up to the new world of Orthodoxy, they can be very enlightening and stimulating. So if you've had your fill of chocolate fandangos it doesn't mean your buddy might not one to reach for one.
P.S. matthewmoore, you're a good sport
I love this. And it hit a little close to home, considering the subject of my last post. I couldn't resist tagging it.
Sure, to someone who's been Orthodox for ten years, those "journey" stories get old. But it's because they're not written for people who've been Orthodox for ten years.
