This is more about your claim to sanity under your profile.... please lose what sanity you have left, that further you get away from it the more I understand you.

The American martyer by the way is a capitalist for this I am sure.

When on my spiritual journey I first came home to Orthodoxy, it was as if I were transported to another world by the beauty of the worship and the floral prints of the headcoverings. Since my chrismation three weeks ago, I've been studying the Ladder of Divine Ascent in my pre-dawn prayer hour, before the children arise and I lead their morning prayers. And now, now I see you and other supposedly Orthodox men falling right off that ladder, using foul language and being misanthropic on your blogs. I will never read your blog again! At least that will give me more time for researching lenten recipes online. I will, however, of course, pray for you while ironing my ankle-length skirts, and I'll ask St. Troy to pray for you, as well.

Golly...

I think if I only wore a sheet kind of wrapped around my middle... and loosely at that... I'd be martyred in no time. Probably be known as the Martydom of Self by Self... if only he'd stayed by himself... this wouldn't have happened.

BTW, I didn't know Troy Aikman had died. I know football season is suddenly... like so over and all.. and next season could be... well, not even there. But seriously...

After watching this:

you can truly consider yourself a martyr.

(That is, if you can watch it without cringing, laughing or chuckling.)

Aside from your "Convert Ladder of Divine Ascent," this could very well be the wittiest thing I've read on here.

"Martyred" or "Taken into custody for your own protection"?

This is just hilarious! The painted figure, with all its contortions, fits so perfectly into this drawing it is amazing. Though it is kind of saddening at the same time, you have captured--with extreme precision--what I imagine people do at home in front of their computer monitors!

No doubt about it--one of your best ever.

You also need to put a picture of my mom....like all good Greek moms across the centuries, she feels that she is suffering at the hands of her children (because they do not heed her advice)....but tells us that if she has to prove her love for us by suffering "at our hands" then so be it.......*sigh*

This is quickly rising to my favourite Orthoblog. :)

I used to be a libertarian. Then I realized that Nietzschean Übermensch wouldn't whine that much.

From this I learned that whining is contrary evidence to martyrdom.

You know the Irish/Celtic idea of the Red (death), Green (asceticism) and White (exile) martyrdoms? I think we should add the Fuchsia martyrdom of online persecution.
