Well, of course it's about my life and stuff I think about. Just like a quadzillionbazillion other bloggers. I'm obsessed with God. I love beauty, enjoy absurdity, dance with despair, seek silence, and think everyone is goofy. Here's my world and what I think of it....

I don't know why there are no comments. This is very funny!
It is indeed quite funny.
Where's the joke? God knows what a grown man's face is supposed to look like!
Okay, I'm going to admit my ignorance. What is the significance of "Byrd?"
ofgrace, It is a play on "Pyr-amid" rather than calling it a "beardamid". I assume everyone thinks like me.... but that would be dangerous. :)
Okay, now it makes perfect sense! Very cute! It was my failure to transfer the pronunciation with the long e sound. I was sounding it out as "Bird" a mid. (Duh!) My fault entirely. Your play was good!
Why don't EO leaders smile? With such sour faces, this inquirer will think a lot before even considering chrismation or confession. I sure don't see God's mercy and love in their faces.

I'm guessing it has something to do with Christ-like sobriety. It's quite common with monastics, especially. Ever see an EO icon of Christ smiling or laughing? Half of the Pantokrator of Sinai shows a glimpse of a cracked smile ;)
