Orthograph #78- The Life of an Orthodox Blog

H/T to Benedict's Current Dilemma

It seems to me that all those crisis come from the same thing. The reasons for becoming Orthodox are different than the reasons for living an Orthodox life. Seems like a second conversion has to happen. The first one changes who you are, the second one changes why you are.

My experience is that many blogs and brothers get to point A and then disappear.

Heh! Too true; my blog has pretty much gone this exact route and is currently "treading water" a bit past the A point (right above the line). Good one.

Heh heh. I've actually resisted having a blog for a long time. I've been Orthodox for only about 5 years now and just started my blog last year. I don't even bother with theology, I'm ALL about entertainment.

Ain't this the truth!

Hey! I resemble that remark! ;-)

But if this orthograph resembles a general tendency, it does give me food for more thought.

We'll see.

NH and VSO, good observations, I started out with a firm resolve to NOT make my blog an "Ortho-blog" but a blog by an Orthodox Christian, kind of like the difference between "Our Life in Christ" and "Steve the Builder". When I started the "Orthographs" my blog took a turn I didn't anticipate or plan on doing but it seems to be taking on a life of its own now and I'm enjoying doing it. I'm with VSO, so its turning out to be a convergence of my goofiness and my faith. Maybe I should coin the term: "Ortho-tainment". :)

Mine is more rambling than anything, so I think I'm ok. So far. What else do you do when you love to write, are not very good at it (speaking only for my own talents here), and love Orthodoxy?

That said, please continue your Ortho-tainment. It's better than other -tainments.

Okay,

I know it turned out really bad, but hopefully you'll be able to understand it and possibly use and/or fix it:

I nuked my blog, then allowed it to arise in its new form. :)
