LOL!!!

Though, wouldn't a better question be, "So, do you really think St. Anthony would have a blog in the first place?" ;-)

sigh - you've nailed it again.
But I do like the way Curmudgeon types with two fingers.

What if it was a graphic one with lots of little souls climbing a ladder?

Margaret, LOL! If I was a programmer I'd create one of those! The Ladder of Divine (?) Hits.

Ruth, Its only thirteen letters per finger and I, ummmm... Curmudgeophan doesn't use ALL the letters at once anyway. :)

I must admit, I've always wondered why a few bloggers I otherwise respect have hit counters. And then I got a thousand hits in a month (a pretty weak showing for a blog actually, but it was more than I ever thought I'd get). And I posted about it (mostly about my surprise). Only did I realize later my error.

I can just see the statcounter, with prideful souls boasting about how many hits their blog had, suddenly dropping off the Ladder of Divine Ascent...........

I think you may have hit on an Orthodox variation of the old Protestant marketing scheme...WWSAD bracelets and religious paraphernalia!

David, I read that on your blog, and if it's any comfort, all I picked up from your comment there was, indeed, surprise and gladness. Neither of which are error. And I was happy too, to read it.

What I like seeing are the maps, and wondering who are the other Kiwis reading the blog I am reading.

Since the conception and release of Curmudgeophan on the world, I cannot help but wonder what he has to say to crazy converts.

Job, I'm sure we'll be hearing from him. Stay tuned.

I keep a sitemeter link on my blog. I don't really need to see how many hits I get, because WP tracks it right on your dashboard at login. I like to see where readers come from geographically speaking, so at worst I'm nosy. I especially like it when WP shows google searches that got people to my site. :) Always a laugh.

Funny... an' I just thought he was workin with Etcha-Sketch-on-a-stick and using a wireless trackball. He may be a recluse, but he's definitely into tech.

Ah... the stat counter. What WOULD we do without it? We might even hang it up and do something else, huh?
